Datuk Noharuddin served in the Malaysian civil service from 1978 until his retirement in 2014. His first appointment was as an Enforcement Officer with the Road Transport Department, and rose within the ranks. From 1986 to 1993, he served as an Assistant Director in the Ministry of International Trade and Industry, and then served as the Trade Commissioner at the Malaysia Trade Commission in New York from 1994-2000. He later served as Director of Americas/Europe in MATRADE,(2003-2011) and was promoted to become the CEO of MATRADE in 2006. Datuk Noharuddin’s last appointment in the civil service was as CEO in Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) from 2011 until 2014.
Currently Datuk Noharuddin is an Independent Non-Executive Director of Kulim Technology Park Corporation (MTCP). (Chairman of Strategic Planning and Business Development Committee). He is also an Independent Non-Executive Director of Hong Leong Industries Berhad and Apex Healthcare Berhad (Member of Audit and Risk Committee).
In MAVCAP, Datuk Noharuddin also sits on the Board Audit and Risk Committee.
Datuk Noharuddin is also a member of the Boards of Axiata Digital Innovation Fund Sdn Bhd, Intres Capital Partners Sdn Bhd , Gobi MAVCAP Asean Investment Management Limited, APEX Healthcare Berhad , Hong Leong Industries Berhad, Kulim Technology Park Corporation Sdn Bhd and KHTP-Sina Sdn Bhd.
